To make one larger room, the living room wall was pushed out 7 feet to be flush with the dining room exterior wall and the fireplace was moved to the other side of the room. This wall also had to move out to make up for the lost room the staircase would now take. As a result, the living room did not gain in size. The other major change was in the old master bedroom and dining room.
